"BeHealthier" Corporate Program of Functional Nutrition

Knowing that well-being is what drives people's productivity, it is essential to invest in actions to create a good organizational environment, improve interpersonal relationships, and the level of satisfaction of employees with the functions they perform. 


The Corporate Health Promotion Service "BeHealthier" is a Nutritional Education and Quality of Life Program developed for companies that aim to contribute to the health of their employees, being partners in promoting good eating habits among them. The entire program takes place in the employee's work environment, which contributes to greater employee participation. This service is carried out across the country.

Step 1: Implementation of a questionnaire to draw a profile of the population that will be investigated. 

Analysis of lifestyle habits: eating habits, practice of physical activities, presence of addictions, disease history, supplements / medications / surgeries.

Step 2: Assessments. 

They are held at the company on a day and time agreed with the nutrition service. It is time for the delivery of the questionnaire previously made available. Each employee will undergo an evaluation lasting about 20 to 30 minutes and will agree with the nutritionist on individual goals and objectives. There are portable equipment for carrying out weight, perimetry, fat percentage and height assessments.

I will assess basic health indicators so that I can develop strategies to promote well-being. Generally, the standards measured are:

- Body weight and height; 

- Waist circumference;

- Body Mass Index (BMI);

- Blood pressure;

- Body fat percentage.

Step 3: Advice and recommendations according to the previous assessments.

A food plan will be offered to each employee. They will receive a food plan specific to their objective, aimed at controlling pre-existing disorders (obesity, diabetes, or high blood cholesterol). Food plans are sent by e-mail within 20 working days after the evaluations are carried out.

Step 4: Lecture (30 - 45 minutes). 

After one week all employees were evaluated, we can plan a lecture addressing major issues, calling attention to the importance of lifestyle change measures. 

Step 5: Follow-up

Each employee will have the opportunity to practice during a certain time what has been proposed. They will have 20 to 30 minute follow-up for a basic assessment (weight and waist circumference), and will tell about their experience. According to the needs of each employee, a more in-depth view of their case may be requested (as an example, a request for several parameters of blood test, which must be requested by a doctor). On this day, all approaches and lifestyle changes can be reinforced by the professional.

What's next? 

The company may offer nutrition talks followed by discussion space about two to four times a year. For employees who have a disorder and need continuous nutritional monitoring, a follow-up every 2 months is suggested. These consultations can be carried out at the company and are intended for changes in food plans and reassessments.
